Bless the Lord at all times!

David the Psalmist begins his expression of praise to God in Psalm 34:1, I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. This time of year we all should be in the same mind as David.

Bless the Lord with thanks through prayer.
Bless the Lord with thanks through prayer.

If you are like me, you have a grandfather, father, uncle, mother, aunt or even a cousin or in-law who delivers the blessing for Thanksgiving, Holiday Party or Christmas dinners. These loving individuals begin to pray and go on thanking God for everything from the farmer who grew the food to unborn children to who will one day be a part of the family.

Now you and I both know we could come up of many different things to do with the lengthy time these folks spend praying. The first of which is getting to the meal a whole lot quicker. Heck, while the food is still Hot in some cases! But truly when you think of it, we can’t thank God enough for all He has done and will do in our lives.

Right now, take 1-2 minutes and just give thought to all the blessings He has touch your life and the life of your loved ones with. Good health. Sound shelter. Safe travel. Food on the table all year. Your job. An expanding business. How about a business that didn’t grow but the doors are still open? There all kinds of blessings God has sent the way of you and your family.

David goes on to say in Psalm 34:8, O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Let us each know that if we bless the Lord we will taste how sweet His love is for us.

See you next Sunday,

MJ
