The devil will try to distract you!

Let me tell you it has been one very busy New Year. January 2nd my wife and I held a family dinner for 20+. The next day via a trip to the airport my daughter was back off to college. A day later I came down with a bunch of congestion requiring bed rest.

The devil has all new kinds of distractions today!
The devil has all new kinds of distractions today!

Through the week while trying to recover, the house was still busy preparing for my son to head off to his new school. At the end of the week we got my son off fine, but then my chest cold kicked back in.

The next day, Sunday, Atlanta decided it wanted to become a winter wonderland with nearly five inches of snow. Then for four more days we couldn’t get above freezing. I did overcome my cold only because we there was no where to go. Before I knew it, we were nearly three weeks into the year and I hadn’t written a single devotional.

Now nothing in my life’s events would be considered influenced by the devil. However, the devil doesn’t have to come at you with evil, but merely keep you distracted from focusing on the Father. For me, Satan knows the lives which are touched by the words shared in these simple little devotionals.

Prov. 4:25-27 shares, Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions…Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust. Writing to you and sharing a little bit of the word is something I consider a responsibility. But even more so, many gracious followers look forward too.

It is only through keeping our eyes straight ahead, can we over come the devil and his tactics of distraction. Let us all leave evil in the dust forever moving closer to our loving Saviour. Truly we can gain so much by not being distracted from the Father!

See you next Sunday
