Data Recovery

Sometimes when we face times of trouble, we may get spiritual amnesia and forget the grace of God. But a good way of reestablishing a thankful heart is to set aside undistracted time and deliberately remember God’s past provisions for us and give thanks. Effectively, over coming any lost memories in our database of God’s continuous mercy for each of us.image

Many many years ago when God’s children found themselves in a barren, hot desert, they developed memory loss about the grace of God. They began to wish they were back in Egypt, enjoying all its plentiful food and drink. In the same breathe these freed children complained about their present limited water supply.

These children of God had forgotten the mighty acts of their deliverance and how the Lord had showered them with wealth. They were dwelling on their current circumstances and forgetting God’s gracious past provision. These present minded souls need to do some data recovery.

The wonderful psalmist wrote challenging us: “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever”. I believe the word mercy means “steadfast love.” It refers to God’s faithfulness. He has promised to be present always to care for us, the Lord’s sheep.

By remembering specific ways God has provided for us in the past, we can open our perspective for the better. God’s steadfast love, grace and mercy endures forever!

Truly, remembering God’s provision for yesterday gives hope and strength for today. Share when you took a moment to think back on the mercy of the Lord in your life. Leave a comment, your share will bless another. Plus, I will write you back.

See you next Sunday!
