Let’s Exercise

At the beginning of each New Year is often a time when we decide to take better care of ourselves. Literally to exercise, eat better and most likely shed some of the weight gained during the holiday eating season. In 1 Tim, Paul expressed, “Exercise only helps a little.” As such, we struggle to be as fit as we can be. We try to eat right, more or less, though we do love our favorite dishes. We do some lifting, walk and run, but we know that our bodies are not long for this world. I mean really, every additional day of life insures the body’s strength is fading.

Let's exercise to achieve godliness!

So, we couldn’t do better than to concentrate on godliness, because it holds promise for our life here and the life to come. We can shake a finger to the old adage, and take something with us after all.

Godliness after is a wonderful pursuit which may seem dull, scary, and almost unattainable, but the essence of godliness we know is simply self-giving love. Striving to care more for others than we care for ourselves in all things! This kind of love is hard to come by, but it’s one that grows in the presence of love.

Life can be our collective journey into love. It seems to me, there could nothing as beautiful as a godly soul. Physical exercise is good, no doubt, but there is something so, so much better. We know it is to love one another. Love is truly and amazingly godliness in action. An exercise well worth pursuing.

Please share how to serve t live godly in your walk. Your gracious share could touch another. Plus, I will write you back.

See you next Sunday,

MJ
