merry CHRISTmas

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given…may these words give you hope and joy on this day. Truly while December 25th may not be the actual day of the savior’s birth, we celebrate the life of the one whom came from God. For, the Word became flesh and lived among us…John 1.14.

Isaiah in his book, one of the major prophets of the Bible, shares the future to come in chapter 9 verse 6. This son to come, who will be given, carries with him on his shoulders authority. So much so he is named, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Today and ever day let peace reign through our heart, minds, deeds and actions towards one another. Not just family and friends, but those whose path we may cross but only once. The flight attendant, highway toll booth operator or especially the customer service rep after we have waited on hold for what seemed like forever. Once this young lady or man whom may sound different from you answers, remember they are a child of God just as we all are. Treat them with love and peace as the Son would have.

On this day as we celebrate the savior’s birth, take heart to the phrase a wise man once shared with me. When speaking with his grandchildren as they part he closes with a wonderful litany, “I love you, but God loves you more.

Have a very merry CHRISTmas.

See you next Sunday
