Openly Express Thanks

Do you believe the reason for saying thanks is to let the giver of a gift know how much you appreciate them? If we offer only silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone.

At times our youngest son sometimes needs to be reminded making eye contact, not looking down at his feet, and inaudibly saying words was less than an acceptable “thank you.” Even after many years, my wife and still discover it’s important for us to continually express our gratitude to each other. When one of us feels appreciative, we express it. Even if we have said thank you before about the same thing. Truly feeling gratitude and not expressing it is not much different than wrapping a present and not giving it.”

Expressing our gratitude to one another is obviously important in human relationships, but it’s much more important in our relationship with God. If we consider the many wonderful blessings we have received, do we openly share our gratitude of thanks to God throughout the day? Don’t you think we should?

There is a reminder in Psalm 107:1 to heart each day: “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!” How wide should be our gratitude to God our heavenly friend? The awesome measure of God’s gifts to us always deserves a huge “Thank you!

Please share how you say “thank you” to God. Your gracious share could touch another. Plus, I will write you back.

See you next Sunday,

MJ
