Thankfullness builds our Health

According to a prominent university medical center researcher, “If thankfulness were a drug, it would be the world’s best-selling product with health benefits for every major organ system.” Snip20160207_3

Frankly, being thankful means simply living with a sense of gratitude taking time to recognize and focus on the things we have, instead of the things we wish we had. The Bible takes the idea of thankfulness to a deeper level. The act of giving thanks causes us to recognize the One who provides our blessings.

We can know God is responsible for the safe delivery of our families and loved ones to their homes through all sorts of storms. As a result, we can a song of gratitude centered on God instead of simply expressing his delight in an important event. A ballad of thanks might begin: Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon the name; make known the wonderful deeds among the people!. This song can go on to rejoice in God’s greatness, highlighting God’s grace, creative power, and mercy.

Today we can be truly thankful by worshiping the Giver instead of the gifts we enjoy. We can focus on the good things in our lives and how it may benefit our bodies, but directing our thanks to God benefits our souls.

True thanksgiving emphasizes the giver rather than the gifts.

Truly, God desires us to be thankful in all our blessings from above. Share a time when you were thankful to God’s hand for you. Leave a comment, your share will bless another. Plus, I will write you back.

See you next Sunday.
